Newcastle House in Ballymahon, Co. Longford will play host to a celebration of home grown Irish talent on Saturday the 7th of June with one day camping festival NewC Fest. Along with an array of talented musicians, the festival will also have DJ’s, comedians and an Artisian food village which will serve specialty food and craft beer. The headline act for NewC Fest is the amazing Ryan Sheridan. The Monaghan native is renowned for consistently selling out high profile venues. Irish alternative rock quartet Children of the Son have catapulted into the music industry. Hotpress magazines named them as “The Ones to Watch” and they recently won the Hotpress and Arnott’s Get the Look competition. These guys have the full package, lead vocalist Jack Matthew’s has a sunning four octave vocal range and they have a killer melodies and showmanship to boot. Dublin rockers Red Empire are rapidly gaining traction as their status rises. Their debut album “Inhale” is due out later this year and is already creating hype with music critics after the success of their first two EP’s “Strange Philosophy” and “Small Mercies”. They have been touted as the best band to come out of Dublin since U2 and it is easy to understand why. Their obvious passion for music infectious melodies places Red Empire firmly on top of the pedestal as the ones to watch in 2014.
